Strawberry Fields Forever!
🎧 Strawberry Fields Forever – A Vinylthon Soundtrack of My Life
This Show is a time capsule of melodies—built from my childhood record collection, my teenage pop-culture obsessions, and the grown-up albums that still give me goosebumps. 💿
We’re spinning vinyl dreams celebrating Vinylthon Weekend, and this episode is a love letter to records, radio, and that magical feeling of finding “your song.”
Expect Beatles, Bowie, Kate Bush, and a whole bunch of bliss.
Whether you were a record store rat like me or just love good music with stories behind it—this one’s for you. And hey, if you ever fell on your “dairy air” dancing to Dexy’s, we might just be soul twins. 🩰🍓🎶

Intro
• That 70's Show Theme {Donna, Eric, Hyde & Jackie. We don't know what happened to Kelso. He might have been off chasing a squirrel} – Because back in the day, we hung out, talked, and listened to vinyl. And of course… “Hello, Wisconsin!” (Or wherever you’re listening from.)
• Strawberry Fields Forever – The Beatles A lifelong favorite. You didn’t think I’d call the show this and NOT play it, did you?
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
• Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth) – George Harrison This one gives me warm fuzzy soul hugs every time.
• Endless Sky – Evan Blum & Michelle Raitzin Do-do-do I need a reason? Do-do-do you even have to ask?
🎬 Second Set : 80s Soundtracks & Pop Culture Nuggets
These were life-changing, iconic, and soundtracked my teenage years in Shermerville(Northbrook), Illinois 60062 and my days working at the record store John Hughes used to frequent. There is a mini tribute to John Huges As well.
• Come On Eileen – Dexys Midnight Runners (One time I literally flew across a dance floor. Dairy air landing.)
• Whip It – DEVO (Yes, you must whip it.)
• The Safety Dance – Men Without Hats (You can dance if you want to…)
• Don’t You (Forget About Me) – Simple Minds (Straight out of a John Hughes movie.)

• Another Century – The Church (I never had this on Vinyl. Zeus’s first Church concert. This one’s for him and Mr. Announcer Man.)
Zeus was passionate about The Church and grew up listening to everything by the band, and solo projects {including Steve Kilbey, Marty Wilson-Piper, and Peter Koppes...}

He thoroughly enjoyed the concert and settled into his own seat, directly in front of the stage.
At home, he delighted in singing along and using his bear as an instrument.
Steve Kilbey Telling Zeus To Give The New Music A Chance!
Zeus was deeply moved by this song, which he first heard during the band's sound check, and he loved it.

🧺 Closing Thoughts:
Thank you for tuning in and celebrating Vinylthon with us.
If I could have spun these all from my original vinyl collection, I would’ve—but I had to make a few exceptions today. That stolen vinyl still stings, but the memories and the music? Still here.
Stay groovy, take care of your ears and hearts, and remember: “Strawberry Fields… forever.”
