🎄✨ Merry! Merry! 2025 ✨🎄
Your Holiday Guide for Coziness, Chaos & Creative Cheer
The season has officially clocked in — cue the twinkle lights, questionable fruitcake, and an embarrassing amount of glitter stuck to the cats. Welcome back to our annual holiday blog-newsletter, where we gather up everything we love about this time of year: music, movies, comfort food, crafts, decorations, memories, and the sweet mess of making it all together.
This year, we’re leveling it up.
✨ New shows, new zines, new songs, new recipes..
As each Eclectic Wonderland holiday episode rotates off the WDRT archive, we’ll update this page with the fresh Mixcloud replay. Until then, you’ll see last year’s Mixcloud players holding down the fort, along with a link straight to the WDRT archives for current streaming.
Check back often — we’ll be updating this throughout December with:
🎅 holly-jolly show drops
🍰 new recipes (grain-free rum balls coming soon!)
🎁 and more
… and all the cozy-sparkly stuff we can pack under this digital tree.
💋 What’s Your Favorite Part of the Holiday Season?
(We’re voting for all of it, obviously.)
If you’re here for the full Holiday Wonderland experience, you’re in the right place. Scroll on for our holiday show schedule, Mixcloud players, gluten-free goodies (because honestly… why suffer?), crafts & décor, movie favorites, silly stories, games, and enough festive chaos to rival a cat in a laser-pointer factory.
Or jump around using the menu — faster than a kid dodging chores at grandma’s house.
I’ll be updating this post all season long with new shows, new treats, and new mischief, so feel free to pop back in anytime.
If scrolling isn’t your style, the menu makes it easy to hop to exactly what you need. It’s organized the same way I used to build my old-school holiday newsletter and cheer bags — long, yes, but friendly. And if you ever lose your place, just click that Merry! Merry! banner and it’ll guide you right home.

🎄 Reindeer Games: A Very Eclectic Wonderland Holiday Begins
Where the season starts… slightly sideways. 💜🦕
Eclectic Wonderland kicks off the holidays with Reindeer Games — the first stop in our four-part festive frenzy. This episode mixes dreamy alt-holiday shimmer, surf-kissed mistletoe mishaps, vintage oddities, and just enough cosmic elf magic to keep Santa guessing.
Expect a glide from Bowie & Bing’s Peace on Earth into Cocteau Twins’ frosted cathedral of sound… with pit stops in offbeat classics, dino-camp, deep cuts, glitter-dusted indie gems, and a few songs so sweet they should come wrapped in a vintage fruitcake tin.
And of course, the seasonal mayhem you’ve come to love:
💋 DJ Tea insists she has official North Pole clearance
📼 Mr. Announcer Man recounts an unexpected reindeer tail
🦕 Two purple reindeer dinos square-dance under the snow moon
A cozy, quirky, holly-jolly kickoff — Eclectic Wonderland style.

🍒 Fruitcake Returns
New Show: Wednesday, December 10 | 1–3 PM Central
The legend is back — slightly sticky, oddly beloved, and impossible to ignore.
Fruitcake started years ago as handmade holiday mixtapes I handed out to friends, neighbors, coworkers… anyone who looked like they needed cheer (or chaos). Later it evolved into mixed CDs tucked into Christmas cards.
Now? It’s a full-blown Eclectic Wonderland holiday tradition — a sugary, strange, sentimental staple we unwrap every December.
This year’s episode blends:
✨ retro holiday sparkle
✨ indie winter wonders
✨ a little sonic mischief
✨ and the infamous Fruitcake Story — including how this show earned its gloriously quirky name.
Unwrap at your own risk… some slices contain dino glitter.

🍒 Fruitcake Rebellion: All Indie Holiday Delights
New Show: Wednesday, December 17 | 1–3 PM Central
Think of this as the holiday remix nobody asked for but everyone ends up loving.
This episode is where Fruitcake — our annual bundle of seasonal sparkle, oddities, and nostalgia — collides headfirst with Better Than K-Tel, our monthly indie spotlight.
The result?
A sleigh ride of independent artists, fresh winter gems, holiday-adjacent deep cuts, and just enough Fruitcake energy to glue it all together (figuratively… and maybe literally).
Expect:
✨ emerging indie magic
✨ cozy dream-pop snowdrifts
✨ alt-rock wreaths
✨ unexpected holiday flavors
✨ and the kind of warm-fuzzy glow only independent music can bring
It’s festive, it’s eclectic, and it’s the perfect bridge between holiday comfort and new-music discovery.

🎄🛸 Flying Fruitcake
New Show: Wednesday, December 24 | 1–3 PM Central
Christmas Eve is ours this year — so buckle up, because Flying Fruitcake is taking off.
This episode fuses the sugary nostalgia of Fruitcake with the gloriously unhinged spirit of our Audio Oddities show.
Think Dr. Demento meets a musical Dr. Frankenstein, stitching together novelty songs, sound collages, experimental holiday weirdness, and a whole stocking full of sonic mischief.
Expect:
✨ warped carols
✨ vintage chaos
✨ jingling oddities
✨ unexpected dino sightings
✨ and enough musical mayhem to confuse the elves
It’s weird, wonderful, and absolutely perfect for a Christmas Eve that refuses to behave.
The Season Of Giving!
The Fruitcake Story

🎁 Fruitcake: Our Annual Holiday Mix Tradition
Fruitcake is our yearly holiday mix — the one we send to family, friends, neighbors, co-conspirators, and anyone who needs a little seasonal cheer (or a gentle shove into festive chaos).
Over the years it’s traveled inside:
🎄 holiday cheer packages
🛍️ goody bags
💌 greeting cards
🎁 and sometimes taped to a gift with questionable amounts of glitter
It’s warm, weird, nostalgic, and absolutely us.
Note:
The music from our earliest Fruitcake mixes now lives inside the holiday shows below — lovingly preserved like vintage ornaments (or forgotten fruitcakes) pulled from the attic each December.
📚 The Back Story
(Where the Fruitcake Lore Truly Begins)
When I was growing up, we’d get a fruitcake every single Christmas — like clockwork. And every year, that fruitcake went straight into what we lovingly called the Fruitcake CryoFreeze.
Picture this:
A very old, very determined Frigidaire parked at the base of the stairs, right outside the lower-level bathroom and laundry room. The top freezer section had one job — housing the fruitcakes of Christmas past.
I remember the first time one arrived.
The technicolor candied fruit looked so pretty, and I was excited to try it… until my mom made an “absolutely-not” face, declared it inedible, and shoved it into the freezer like she was sealing away a cursed relic.
And there it stayed.
The next Christmas?
Another fruitcake. Straight to the freezer.
Every year after that?
Same ritual.
When I asked about them one year, I was informed — with great seriousness — that fruitcakes last forever. And honestly, I believed it.
Years passed.
We moved to a new house…
but somehow, the fruitcakes did not make the journey.
(They vanished. Just poof. Gone. I never saw them again.)
I did see the old Frigidaire get adopted by a friend and rolled away triumphantly on two skateboards to live out its final days in a treehouse. No, they weren’t the fruitcake inheritors — I checked.
I never questioned the Fruitcake Disappearance Mystery, but knowing my mom, she probably buried them somewhere so no one would feel guilty tossing them out.
Fruitcakes quickly became a family joke, and I even wore a Santa hat with a “No Fruitcake!” pin every December. One Christmas a friend took offense and asked why I hated them. I told the whole saga… which is when we realized…
…I had never actually tried one.
So their grandma pulled a fruitcake from her freezer, soaked it lovingly in rum, and served me a slice.
I took one bite.
Got immediately sick.
To this day I don’t know if it was the gluten, the texture, or the vibe — but suddenly my mom’s “icky face” made perfect sense.
Years later, when we started making holiday mixed CDs for our goody bags, the name “Fruitcake” felt destined. It was time to reclaim the tradition — but tastier, funnier, and far more musical.
Now, Fruitcake is our yearly holiday mix, our little bundle of cheer, chaos, and nostalgia. And below, you’ll find music pulled straight from those very first mixes we ever made.
Enjoy the tradition — minus the freezer burn.

🍽️ Gluten-Free Goodies (Because Who Needs Gluten Anyway?)

Holiday Dice Game

🦌🎲 Reindeer Games
A hilariously chaotic holiday dice game for gatherings, parties, families, or anyone who likes a little festive mischief.
This fast-paced game is perfect with wrapped presents — White Elephant gifts, grab-bag surprises, thrift-store treasures, or that one ridiculous item someone bought just to stir trouble.
What You’ll Need
1 or 2 dice (more dice = more chaos)
Wrapped gifts (1–2 per player)
A table or enough space to sit in a circle
A willingness to laugh and not get attached to any gift
🎁 Game Setup
1. Prepare the Gifts
Everyone brings a wrapped gift — silly, sweet, weird, practical, dino-themed, you name it. The host can provide extras if needed.
2. Form a Circle
Sit in a circle with all gifts in the center or one gift in front of each player.
🎲 How to Play
1. Start Rolling
Pick who goes first (youngest, oldest, whoever “volunteers,” or draw straws).
Players roll clockwise.
2. Dice Rules
Each number = a specific action:
Roll a 1 → Switch gifts with the person to your right
Roll a 2 → Switch gifts with the person to your left
Roll a 3 or 4 → Switch with anyone in the circle and unwrap the gift
Roll a 5 or 6 → Unwrap the gift in front of you
If already unwrapped, your turn just ends
3. Keep Going
Play until every gift is unwrapped,
or set a 10–15 minute timer if you want rapid-fire chaos.
When time’s up or everything is open, you can end the game or add a final “one more roll” round so everyone gets one last chance to stir trouble.
🎄 Optional Rules for Extra Fun
✨ Steal Limits
Cap the number of swaps a gift can go through so the game doesn’t become the “Hot Potato Toaster Oven Hour.”
✨ Skip Rule
Choose a number (like 6) that means the player must sit out their next turn.
✨ Double Dice Madness
For big groups, roll two dice and combine the actions.
Example:
1 + 2 = swap with two different people
3 + 4 = unwrap AND steal twice
Spicy.
🎁 Winning
There is no winner —
only laughter, questionable choices, and the glory of whatever gift lands in your lap at the end.
This game is about the surprises, the swaps, and the inevitable “HEY THAT WAS MINE!” holiday chaos.
This is a fantastic way to liven up holiday gatherings and keep everyone engaged!
Holiday Madlib Sing-A Longs

🎤🎄 Holiday Mad Libs Sing-Along
Featuring Kazoos, Junk Percussion & Questionable Nog Decisions
Looking for a holiday activity that guarantees laughter, chaos, and someone accidentally snorting nog out their nose?
Welcome to the Eclectic Wonderland Holiday Mad Libs Sing-Along — where you rewrite your favorite carols, then sing them loudly with kazoos and whatever “instruments” you find in the junk drawer.
Holiday options include:
🎶 Drink Nog & Go Caroling
🎺 Kazoo Choirs
🥁 Junk Percussion Symphony
🦕 Dino Backup Vocals (optional but encouraged)
🎲 How to Play Mad Libs (Holiday Edition)
Mad Libs is a ridiculous word game where you fill in blanks with random nouns, verbs, adjectives, names, and odd noises — then read (or sing) the final masterpiece out loud for instant chaos.
1. Choose a Story or Song
Pick a pre-written Mad Lib story, carol, or script with word blanks labeled by type (noun, verb, adjective, etc.).
You’ll find several holiday versions below!
2. Gather Your Group
Two or more players.
One acts as the Reader, the others are the Contributors shouting out words on command.
3. No Peeking
The Reader must NOT read the song/story ahead of time.
Surprise = comedy gold.
4. Ask for Word Types
Contributors give answers without knowing where they go:
Noun → person/place/thing (e.g., “sandwich,” “mountain,” “reindeer butt”)
Verb → action word (“bounce,” “scream,” “salsa”)
Adjective → describes a noun (“sparkly,” “grumpy,” “moist”—but please don’t)
Adverb → how things are done (“loudly,” “dramatically”)
Extras → names, body parts, materials, silly sounds, emotions, etc.
The weirder the answer, the better.
5. Fill in the Blanks
The Reader writes down each answer exactly as given — no context allowed.
6. Perform It
Once all blanks are filled…
🎤 Sing it.
🎺 Kazoo it.
🥁 Percussion the hell out of it.
🎄 Revel in the chaos.
7. Go Wild
Encourage the weirdest possible answers
(“glittery goblin,” “screaming lasagna,” “feral marshmallow”).
Add a timer for panicked responses = comedy gold.
🌟 Optional Chaos Rules
✨ Themes: Holiday, movie night, holiday rom-coms, spooky winter, Purple Tiki Specials
✨ Prizes: For best word, worst word, most unhinged contribution
✨ Karaoke Mode: Sing the final Mad Lib lyrics together
✨ Kazoo Solos: Self-explanatory. And mandatory.

If you find yourself alone this season, remember that it’s still worth celebrating. Never tell yourself there’s no point in decorating for Christmas, Hanukkah, or whatever traditions are close to your heart. The very best reason to celebrate is you.
You matter. To God, the Universe, the Great Spirit—however you understand it—you are just as precious and important as anyone else on this planet.
So go ahead: buy yourself a gift, wrap it up, and place it under the tree. Don’t wait for someone else to guess what you need—take care of yourself. Fill your home with the comforting smells of good food, set the table like a guest of honor, and eat from your nicest plate.
This is a special season, and you deserve to be a part of it—music, lights, and all. If you learn to enjoy your own company, you’ll find you’re never really alone.
And if you want, reach out. Invite someone else who might be feeling lonely to join you, or connect with loved ones virtually. Remember: you are loved. You deserve joy, warmth, and connection. No matter what, you are never truly alone.
Peace, love, and cosmic bunny rabbits,
Tea

Just wanted to take a moment to share how grateful I am for all of you, my wonderful friends. I truly cherish knowing you’re there and love following your stories. You all bring something unique and beautiful to the world, and I hope you realize just how special you are.
Wishing each of you love, peace, health, and joy throughout this season and into the new year. You’re all miracles, and I’m so thankful for the light you bring into my life. ❤️
Peace, love, and cosmic bunny rabbits,
Tea

Sweet Friends, please remember: you are absolutely perfect, just as you are. You are enough. You do enough. You are loved and cherished for the unique and beautiful person you are. You’re not here to live up to anyone else’s expectations or to mold yourself to make others happy. Your life is yours to live—your goals, your dreams, your pace.
You deserve love, joy, and peace simply for being you. Don’t ever feel the need to dim your light to fit in. You were born to shine, to be authentic, to be you. The world is brighter because of your brilliance, your kindness, your heart. Be yourself, unapologetically. You are amazing, and you deserve to be loved and accepted just as you are. Always.
Peace, Love & Cosmic Bunnie Rabbits,
Tea

You are a true gift to this world, and your presence here is no coincidence—you're here for a reason. The world needs people who follow what lights them up inside, and there’s always room for your unique brilliance to shine. When you lean into what brings you joy, miraculous things start to happen. Doors open, paths align, and life begins to flow in ways you never imagined. Listen to the gentle whispers of your heart—they know the way. Follow what fills you with happiness and purpose, because the world needs you. You are a gift, and your light makes all the difference.
I hope your day is delightful. Peace, love, and cosmic bunny rabbits,
xo Tea
