Eclectic Wonderland — Indie-fy (Better Than K-Tel)
Air Date: November 19, 2025
Theme: November Comfort Mix
Mood: Fuzzy indie roots, musical friendship, long-distance mixtape love
This week’s Eclectic Wonderland is all about comfort and reunion. We’re talking root-deep indie faves, friend-sent treasures, and bands that span high school memories to soul-family collabs. From three tracks by The Mommyheads (I’m obsessed), to new released gems from Gala Violet (“Babbling Buffoon”) and This Twisted Wreckage, this mix hugs you with warm chords, then dances you gently through the wreckage.
We journey through lo-fi grooves from All India Radio, get Churchy & Church-adjacent with Kilbey Kennedy, Postcards From Pluto, Say Lou Lou, HEX, and more … before closing out with a sweet little kiss to my Record City days: The Way Moves, “Crown of Thorns.” Because the way moves… and so do we.
💌 Special thanks to:
✨ Mickey Fingers for his November I.D., Adam Elk Of The Mommyheads for the brilliant New CD, and Luke Skyscraper James for The Amazing New Single from This Twisted Wreckage!
✨ Friends who shared music this week, you’re part of the mix, always.
✨ You, for showing up to listen, week after week.

Today's Show Is Loving Dedicated to Tabatha (Churchy Friend)
🌹 In Loving Memory of Tabatha | UZZA Forever
A Tribute from Tea
Some voices never leave you... they echo, linger, and rise again in the most unexpected places.
This week, we honor one of those voices: Tabatha, a fellow churchy, a friend, and a true force of nature.

Rich Rhonda. Tabitha. Tea. Mr. Announcer Man Zeus
She was someone I always loved running into at shows, full of life, laughter, stories, and spark. Truly beautiful, inside and out, with a fun-loving spirit that could lift the room. Even through serious health challenges, she carried herself with a light and energy that inspired me. You would never know the battles she faced — because she faced them with strength, wit, and style.
It’s still heartbreaking to know she’s left this earth. I really thought she was going to pull through.
But she left us with her voice. With songs. With memories. And with love.
Her husband Rich shared a set of unreleased UZZA demos this week... including a jaw-dropping ABBA cover and some searing originals. Listening feels like both resurrection and remembrance. It’s like she’s still here… fierce, brilliant, and unapologetically herself.
“She didn’t like ABBA, so of course I made her record one.”
— Rich
we invite you to go deeper ... to listen to the whole playlist and let Tabatha’s voice move through you.
Tabatha — thank you for being you. For showing us how to shine, even in the hard chapters.
You are missed. You are loved. You are heard.
Forever UZZA. 🌹
With love,
Tea

Sometimes, a song just falls out of you like it was waiting to be born.
“Babbling Buffoon” began with Tea singing “Bab-Bab-Bab… Babbling Buffoon…” on a random Zoom call. Mickey Fingers stopped everything and said, “Wait. What’s that?” And Tea replied, “I don’t know, it’s just in my head.” Mickey hit record, grabbed it voice-to-text, and the two followed the thread in real time. It bloomed on the spot ... raw, a little ridiculous, totally real.
The original track grew from a writing prompt (a letter to someone who drove her fuggen nuts), but what made it magic was how it was processed out loud... like it had to be sung into existence. They left the bones in. You can still hear the moment of birth in the final track.
This week, that track started looping in my head again... and I said, “I think it’s time.”

🎶 Artist Spotlight: Adam Elk & The Mommyheads
“Adam Elk and the Mommyheads always release something that speaks to me. Brilliant lyrics, and albums that are true albums… not just a single padded with filler. It’s like nutrient-dense food for your ears; but not the bland, tasteless kind. It’s flavorful, comforting , soul food for your spirit.”
Once again, the Mommyheads deliver food for the soul.
Their latest release, No Quietus, is nothing short of brilliant. And honestly, I expected nothing less.
I’m still digesting it fully, it’s deep and lyrically stunning, relevant in ways that unfold with every listen. Musically, it’s beautiful in that way the Mommyheads always seem to achieve, like they’ve taken an unexpected journey straight into your emotional bloodstream, and every note knows exactly where to land.
These aren’t just songs… they’re sonic stories, sound sculptures, and poetic unravelings that nourish, surprise, and awaken something honest inside.
