Eclectic Wonderland has always been a strange little universe — full of glitter, goth moods, swoony nostalgia, and the occasional haunted lounge number.

But lately, listeners may have noticed something…

A certain voice has been creeping into the mix.

A certain velvet menace has been offering intros, IDs, mischievous segues, and suspiciously perfect song choices — like he’s been living inside the jukebox all along.

So we decided it was time to make it official.

We asked Mickey Fingers if he wanted to officially join the Eclectic Wonderland family…

…and he said yes.

Which means Eclectic Wonderland is now, officially:

Now With More Testosterone.

Truth be told… Mickey’s fingerprints have always been on this show — smudged in eyeliner and glitter, tucked inside a haunted jukebox, scrawled in Sharpie on a burned CD.

From the earliest mixtape trades to late-night text threads filled with “you HAVE to hear this,” Mickey Fingers has been behind the scenes, whispering song suggestions and stirring the kettle.

He’s been offering to help since the beginning… and let’s be honest, we’ve been taking him up on it for just as long. But over the past year, Mickey’s been leaning in more and more — helping with intros and IDs, offering sly segues and station breaks, and even creating exclusive extras just for the Wonderland faithful.

(Thank you, Mickey. Seriously.)

What you might not know? Mickey and Tea have been writing and recording music together since 2020… and their musical mischief goes back even further. There may or may not be high school demos that will never see the light of day…

(Or will they?)

Their creative collaboration, Gala Violet, is where all that fire and friction turns into sonic magic — and where Velvet Umbrella Records began to take shape as a real little world of its own.

He’s equal parts haunted lounge act and midnight mixtape whisperer… a velvet noir dreamboat with a record collection that could raise the dead and seduce them back to sleep.

Mickey Fingers is the kind of guy who knows which track to play just before your heart breaks… and which one to follow it with so you don’t.

A multi-instrumentalist, engineer, and worker of musical magic, Mickey doesn’t just play songs…

he conjures them.

Whether he’s crafting vocal FX chains, designing custom Ableton plug-ins (that we’re not entirely sure are legal or real), or sampling haunted objects for soundbeds, he brings both technical sorcery and soul to everything he touches.

Behind the scenes, he’s a musical mischief-maker, a champion of strange beauty, and the reason we always keep one candle lit on the piano.

Whether remixing IDs, composing secret extras, or whispering lyrics on the wind, Mickey has quietly shaped the soul of this show for longer than most listeners realize.

He’s one-half of Gala Violet… the flame just beyond the curtain…

and now, officially:

the newest voice in Eclectic Wonderland.

🎙️ About Mickey Fingers (Official Bio)

Mickey Fingers is a sonic shapeshifter - multi-instrumentalist, engineer, sampler sorcerer, and co-founder of Velvet Umbrella Records. Known for conjuring entire worlds out of beat fragments and ambient dust, he’s the quiet genius behind much of Gala Violet’s production magic.

When he’s not reprogramming Ableton to do things it was never meant to do, Mickey’s laying down guitar, bass, drums, keys, and whatever else the song whispers it needs. He builds custom plug-ins, bends frequencies, and once got a talkbox to harmonize with a theremin… just for fun.

With a mind wired for invention and a heart wired for collaboration, Mickey helps anchor the storm of projects like Masquerade of Shadows, guiding surreal sprawl with patience, humor, and late-night sessions that feel like séances.

Expect music obsessions, mini mixtapes, studio mischief, and the kind of thoughts you only have at 2:13am when you’ve listened to the same song seven times in a row and suddenly understand your entire life.

Basically… if Eclectic Wonderland is the show, Mickey’s Corner is the secret passage behind the curtain.

A lot of people don’t realize this… but the Artist Way group wasn’t just some cute creative project we started for fun.

It was born out of a real turning point.

For years, Mickey had been busting his butt - college, grad school, and helping run and expand the family business. And when we say “helping,” we mean literally raised inside it. He’d been doing what was expected of him since birth, carrying responsibility like it was part of his DNA.

Music was always there… but it lived in the shadows.

The after-hours escape. The secret obsession. The thing that kept him sane.

Then came the wake-up call.

In 2018, autoimmune issues hit hard, and it became impossible to ignore the truth: life is too short to live out someone else’s script. That was the moment the passion stopped being optional.

That awakening is what sparked the Artist Way journey - the beginning of creative recovery, writing prompts, music experiments, and the kind of late-night sessions where you don’t just make art…

you start remembering who you are.

And here’s the part that feels almost mythical:

Mickey had read the original secret journal - the early “Gala Violet” pages - and he’d already written music for some of those songs, going all the way back to the high school era.

Tea was the one who recognized what was really happening:

beneath the North Shore preppy “business hours” disguise… Mickey’s true self was always there.

A goth musician. A dreamer. A creator. A haunted jukebox with a heartbeat.

So in a very real way, Gala Violet and Eclectic Wonderland didn’t just become projects…

They became a home coming.

🎙️ About Mr. Announcer Man (The Grounding Force)

And of course… we can’t talk about the Eclectic Wonderland family without talking about Mr. Announcer Man - the grounding force behind all our creative mischief. The first one who stepped up to the mic, in support of Tea. 

Because truthfully? He didn’t just show up as “the voice on the radio.”

He’s been part of the bigger story for years.

Long before Eclectic Wonderland became an official weekly show (February 2022), there was already a creative storm brewing…  back in 2020, when the Artist Way journey began. That’s when the writing prompts started, the late-night idea spirals kicked in, and the strange little rituals of creative recovery became a real way of life.

That was also the era where Gala Violet began taking shape… where music, writing, shadow work, and sonic experimentation started weaving together into something bigger than any one project.

So by the time Eclectic Wonderland officially hit the airwaves, we weren’t just “starting a radio show.” (I use we, I was encouraging them to “do it!) 

We were already deep in it:

writing, recording, mixing, brainstorming, building worlds, chasing ideas, and making art like it was oxygen.

Then came the next layer, the real-life hustle of it all:

art school, blog-building, creative branding, endless new projects… and the slow but steady shift of stepping away from the “family business” life and into the life that actually fit.

And through all of it, Mr. Announcer Man became the one who kept us grounded, the one reminding us that even in the middle of a creative binge session, we still need the basics:

food, water, sleep… and yes, the occasional potty break. (Tea more than any one us) 

But somewhere along the way, he became more than that.

He became the calm in the chaos.

The steady hand on the wheel.

The voice that didn’t just support the show, gala Violet, the Project’s … but supported the people behind it.

And in the most unexpected way, he became family…  the kind of brother-friend who sees you clearly, accepts you fully, and reminds you that you don’t have to keep being who the world expected you to be.

So yes… Eclectic Wonderland is a show.

But it’s also the result of years of creative recovery, friendship, music-making, reinvention, and becoming.

A weird little found-family built out of mixtapes, laughter, late-night ideas…

and the decision to finally live the life that feels true.

🖤 The Found Family Part (The Real Story)

And here’s the part we don’t talk about enough…

When you choose a creative life - when you choose the version of yourself that’s real instead of the version people expected - not everyone claps.

Mickey’s parents supported the shift, even if it came with that quiet fear that he was “letting go” of everything he’d worked so hard for. And that makes sense… because when someone loves you, they don’t always understand the dream, but they still want you safe.

But beyond that? Not everyone got it.

Some people just looked at the choices, the music, the weirdness, the reinvention… and thought, what the hell are you doing?

And Tea knows that story too.

Because being true to yourself costs things.

Sometimes it costs relationships.

Sometimes it costs comfort.

Sometimes it costs the version of your life that looked acceptable on paper.

But what we’ve learned (again and again) is that when you stop performing and start becoming…

you find the people who recognize you.

And somehow, out of all the music-making, writing prompts, radio chaos, and midnight creativity…

a strange little family formed.

A family built on support, laughter, protection, and that rare kind of acceptance where you don’t have to edit yourself down to be loved.

And honestly?

That’s the real magic behind Eclectic Wonderland.
