Somewhere between a retro-futurist public access station, a mushroom village built from candy-coated dreams, and a cosmic amusement park broadcasting from Dimension 5……the FunGuys appeared.

This week’s edition of Eclectic Wonderland cracks open a strange little portal into a world of novelty transmissions, outsider pop oddities, robot lounge music, emotional support waffles, jelly dancers, moon people, malfunctioning space-age rides, and soft psychedelic chaos drifting through the frequencies of W-D-R-T Viroqua.

And honestly? We regret nothing.

Over the past week, the Velvet Umbrella corridors became increasingly unstable. New rooms appeared. Strange transmissions leaked through the walls. Mushroom hats became mandatory. Robots started requesting lounge music. Someone opened a portal in the kitchenette. There may or may not now be a cosmic bunny rabbit living somewhere near the control board.

Naturally… we documented everything.

This week’s updated Velvet Umbrella Radio page now features a growing collection of interactive portals, dream corridors, strange doors, and surreal little windows into the expanding FunGuys universe.

What began as a ridiculous visual experiment quickly evolved into a full-blown retro-cosmic mythology involving:

✨ Mushroom diplomats

✨ Cosmic lounge transmissions

✨ Waffle technology

✨ Questionable science

✨ Jellybean dimensions

✨ Telepathic tea rooms

✨ Public access frequencies from outer space

✨ And at least one emotionally supportive robot

Somewhere between Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, The Twilight Zone, Wonder Showzen, old educational films, Bruce Haack records, and late-night underground radio……the FunGuys were born.

🧇 The Kitchen Portal

One of the first major discoveries involved waffles, retro toasters, cosmic elixirs, and an experimental science lab hidden somewhere behind a pastel refrigerator.

To this day, researchers remain divided over whether the waffles are sentient.

Mickey Fingers insists they are.

Celeste remains cautiously optimistic.

Mr Announcer Man refuses to comment publicly.

📻 Signal Incoming From The Cosmic Lounge

As the afternoon drifted deeper into the frequencies, the transmissions became stranger.

Robots requested lounge music.The Moon started calling collect. The Bran Flakes opened the dimensional gateway. Raymond Scott reprogrammed the amusement rides. Bruce Haack quietly altered the circuitry.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Velvet Umbrella corridors…

…the walls started whispering.

🚪 The Corridors Are Expanding

Perhaps the strangest discovery of all was the hallway.

A seemingly endless corridor of cosmic doors now connects multiple Velvet Umbrella dimensions, including:

✨ The Telepathic Tea Room

✨ The Dream Vault

✨ The Puzzle Parlor

✨ The Echo Chamber

✨ The Astral Bathroom

✨ The Wobble Room

✨ And several doors we have been specifically instructed NOT to open.

Naturally… Mickey opened them anyway.

Nobody really knows where Mickey Fingers came from. (Ok.... Celeste does.. and maybe, Mr Announcer Man.. and Mickey's Family... )

Some say he wandered into Velvet Umbrella Radio one rainy evening carrying a briefcase full of old records, strange frequencies, broken cassette tapes, and three impossible stories.

Others claim he’s been broadcasting from the corridors the entire time.

He insists he has magic fingers, that can play any instrument. He also insists waffles improve inter-dimensional reception.

At this point, we’ve stopped arguing.

Mickey’s Strange Magic is a growing corner of Velvet Umbrella Radio dedicated to transmissions from the stranger side of the hallway:

Sometimes the signals are heartfelt. Sometimes they’re ridiculous. Sometimes they arrive at 2AM smelling faintly like toaster waffles and cosmic static.

Either way… the door is opening soon.
