Some shows arrive fully planned.
This wasn’t one of them.
After taking two weeks away from our usual projects, playlists, deadlines, and adventures, we found ourselves returning home with a growing collection of strange observations, recurring themes, and unanswered questions.
Somehow the vacation kept circling back to the same things:
Mermaids.
Bigfoot.
Moonlit shorelines.
Recurring dreams.
Mysterious signals.
Non-fish.
And, eventually, Gerald.
What began as a handful of jokes and observations slowly evolved into this week’s Eclectic Wonderland: Mermaids, Non-Fish & Other Evidence.
Along the way we collected stories, songs, coincidences, and clues. We followed earworms. We compared notes. We looked for patterns. We asked questions that probably didn’t need answers. And somewhere in the middle of it all, the investigation began.
This week’s soundtrack wandered through dream-pop, psychedelic pop, post-punk, siren songs, moonlit landscapes, and strange transmissions from places that may or may not exist on any official map.
Special thanks to Mickey Fingers, whose field reports, observations, and ongoing updates regarding the Gerald situation helped transform this week’s show into something much stranger than originally intended.

One of the first major discoveries involved waffles, retro toasters, cosmic elixirs, and an experimental science lab hidden somewhere behind a pastel refrigerator.
To this day, researchers remain divided over whether the waffles are sentient.
Mickey Fingers insists they are.
Celeste remains cautiously optimistic.

📻 Signal Incoming From The Cosmic Lounge
As the afternoon drifted deeper into the frequencies, the transmissions became stranger. Robots requested lounge music. The Moon started calling collect.
Geggy Tah opened a dimensional gateway. The Dukes Of Stratosphear reprogrammed the amusement rides. I Monster quietly altered the circuitry.
Meanwhile, somewhere inside the Velvet Umbrella universe, a growing number of unusual reports began arriving.
Mermaids.
Bigfoot.
Mystery Onions.
Non-Fish.
Recurring Dreams.
And an increasingly complicated situation involving a dolphin named Gerald.
Nobody is entirely sure how these events are connected.
Gerald insists they are.
The investigation continues.
Meanwhile, somewhere in the Velvet Umbrella corridors…
…the walls have started whispering again.

Perhaps the strangest discovery of all remains the hallway.
A seemingly endless network of corridors now connects multiple Velvet Umbrella dimensions, including:

✨ The Echo Chamber
✨ The Astral Bathroom
✨ The Wobble Room
✨ The Kitschy Kitchenette
✨ And several doors we have been specifically instructed NOT to open.

Mickey opened them anyway.
Additional portals, hidden rooms, interactive oddities, secret archives, Bandcamp outposts, Mixcloud listening stations, and unexplained artifacts are currently under construction.
Progress has been slightly delayed due to ongoing infrastructure projects, permit reviews, and matters relating to Gerald’s proposed underwater expansion initiative.

Further investigation is ongoing.
One particularly unusual discovery involved two independently assembled vacation playlists.
Celeste returned with approximately ten hours of music.
Mickey returned with approximately twelve.
When the playlists were compared, nearly six hours overlapped.
No coordination occurred.
At least none that can be proven.
Researchers remain divided on whether this represents coincidence, shared influences, telepathic communication, or some unexplained frequency-link that continues to operate despite distance, time zones, and common sense.

Inspired by a real-life experience in the Trinity Alps and Bluff Creek region of Northern California, the song blends roadside folklore, strange encounters, found sounds, humor, mystery, and a healthy distrust of ordinary explanations.
Listeners may notice unusual percussion throughout the track.
Many of the sounds were created using found objects, improvised instruments, junk percussion, and whatever happened to be making noise nearby at the time.
Can you identify them all?
We can’t.

Written by Celeste Violet, Mickey Fingers & Collin Performed by Gala Violet
Unlike most songs, this one arrived from a place neither Celeste nor Mickey can fully explain.
Over time, both reported recurring dreams involving a distant water world, endless oceans, unfamiliar skies, strange signals, and an overwhelming sense of recognition.
The song became an attempt to document those dreams before they disappeared.
Whether the dream represents memory, imagination, symbolism, another world, or something stranger remains unknown.
