Angels In The Static | After HOurs | Part 2 of 2

Angels In The Static
Sometimes a week has one mood.
This one had two.
By day, Eclectic Wonderland took familiar songs apart, shuffled the wiring, changed the lighting, and sent them back into the world wearing slightly different clothes.
By night, Velvet Umbrella Radio | After Hours followed the signal somewhere quieter, darker, and harder to explain.
Two shows.
Two frequencies.
Same strange little universe.
This week, we moved from Remixed, Rewired & Slightly Wrong into Angels in the Static, with Celeste Violet, and Mickey Fingers wandering between alternate versions, darkwave shadows, radio ghosts, and whatever else happened to be waiting between the stations.
Somewhere along the way, the songs changed shape.
The rooms changed temperature.
And the receiver stayed on.
So come in.
The first door is brighter.
The second one waits until after midnight.

After the daylight remix experiment, the room changed.
Eclectic Wonderland had spent the afternoon bending familiar songs into alternate versions. By Friday overnight, Velvet Umbrella Radio | After Hours had moved somewhere quieter and stranger.
Angels in the Static belongs to Mickey Fingers and Celeste Violet.
Just the two of them, following darkwave, post-punk, electronic ghosts, and those songs that seem to reveal something different when the rest of the world has gone to sleep.
No big explanation.
No need to solve the signal.
Just two voices, a dark room, and the receiver left on long enough to hear what might be hiding between the stations.

Mickey's Corner

Mickey’s Corner 🎙️✨
Between the Stations
There’s a point, late enough at night, when a room changes.
Nothing dramatic.
The walls stay where they are.
The furniture doesn’t move.
But the silence gets deeper.
The radio sounds different.
And the things you’ve been carrying around all day seem to sit down beside you.
That’s where Angels in the Static lived for me.
Not in answers.
In the spaces between them.
There’s something comforting about static.
People usually think of it as noise.
Interference.
A problem to tune past.
But static is what happens when more than one possibility is trying to occupy the same space.
Maybe that’s why it feels so familiar.
We do that too.
We carry old versions of ourselves around with the new ones.
The person we were.
The person we thought we were supposed to become.
The person who survived something.
The person who is still becoming.
All of them broadcasting at once.
Most of the time, we turn the dial quickly enough that we don’t have to hear the overlap.
But every once in a while...
we stop.
And something comes through.
A memory.
A voice.
A feeling you thought you had already filed away.
A door you were certain you closed.
Sometimes it’s beautiful.
Sometimes it’s uncomfortable.
Sometimes it sounds suspiciously like music coming from behind a red velvet curtain nobody remembers hanging.
And maybe that’s the whole trick.
Not deciding too quickly what the signal means.
Just listening long enough to notice that it exists.
Because some things don’t arrive as explanations.
They arrive as atmosphere.
As a shiver.
As a familiar melody in the wrong room.
As footsteps somewhere beyond the respectable corridor.
So if the static gets louder...
don’t panic.
It may not be a warning.
It may just be another part of the story trying to find its frequency.
Mickey Fingers
Still listening between the stations.

Celeste's Notes

Celeste's Notes
On Signals, Shadows & Leaving the Receiver On
Some weeks feel very planned.
This one did not.
It started with remixes, alternate versions, half-finished ideas, too many projects open at once, and the usual amount of creative chaos humming in the background.
Then somehow, by the time we reached Friday overnight, the whole week had shifted into something quieter.
Darker.
More reflective.
Angels in the Static became one of those shows that felt less like building a playlist and more like following a trail.
One song led to another.
One mood opened into the next.
And before long, Mickey and I were sitting inside this strange little radio world where darkwave, post-punk, electronic ghosts, and late-night thoughts all seemed to belong together.
I love when that happens.
When the show starts becoming its own thing.
When you stop trying to force it into a shape and just listen for what it wants to be.
There was something about this one that felt especially close to the larger worlds we’ve been building lately.
The Masquerade.
The corridors.
The stories hiding behind songs.
The feeling that some doors never really close.
They just wait.
And maybe that is why the Puppet Master keeps finding his way back into the art.
He has been unusually quiet.
Which, as we’ve already established, is suspicious.
I’m not rushing him.
Halloween is coming.
The curtains are still hanging.
And I have a feeling we are going to hear from that side of the building soon enough.
For now, though, I’m happy just sitting here with the receiver on.
Listening.
Watching the shadows move.
Letting the static be static for a little while.
Thank you for spending another strange little week with us.
Thank you for listening to the music, the stories, the voices, and all the weird pieces in between.
And thank you for continuing to wander through these rooms with us.
There are more doors ahead.
I can feel them.
Celeste Violet
Still leaving a light on in the corridor. 💕📻🎭✨
The Story Behind Waffles & Fish-Head Café
Before Waffles & Fish-Head Café became a place inside Dream Logic, it was just an inside joke.
A long, long time ago, Mickey Fingers and Celeste Violet were in the studio together, happ-slappy, playing around, making things, laughing at things that probably made considerably less sense to anyone outside the room.
Somewhere in all of that, Waffles & Fish-Head Café happened.
Mickey sent the original piece as a joke.
And then, because this is Eclectic Wonderland and apparently nobody was supervising us, one day it ended up on a show.
That should probably have been the end of it.
Instead, it became one of those tiny shared references that never quite disappeared.
Years later, while we were wandering through the impossible rooms of Dream Logic Part One, there it was again.
Waiting for us.
And somehow, in a show filled with black rainbows, moon monkeys, suspicious robots, ghosts, unreliable clocks, and dreams that remember things before we do...
Waffles & Fish-Head Café suddenly made perfect sense.
That may be our favorite kind of story.
The ones nobody deliberately creates.
They just keep coming back until one day you realize they have become part of the world.
And apparently, once a place becomes part of the world...
it starts developing habits.
Lately, pieces of the Café have been showing up again.
A waffle drifting through a frame.
A fish head appearing where no fish head was requested.
A corner of the room turning up in a transmission from somewhere else entirely.
Little breadcrumbs.
Which is interesting, because the Café feels different after dark.
The jukebox is quieter.
The vending machine hums a little lower.
The windows reflect more room than there seems to be behind you.
And every so often, between songs...
the radio catches something that does not sound like the station you were listening to.
We have decided not to investigate.
For now.
The fish heads have also stopped taking notes.
Which is somehow worse.
If you find yourself back at Waffles & Fish-Head Café after midnight...
order the waffles.
Do not ask about the late-night menu.
And if the jukebox starts playing something nobody selected...
leave the receiver on.
😂🐟🧇📻✨
Enjoy!

📻 Signal Incoming ....
DIMENSION 5 SNACKS IS BACK 🧁✨
Somewhere between rebuilding websites, making radio shows, opening suspicious doors, and wondering where entire pages disappear to when nobody is looking...
Celeste and Mickey have wandered back into the Dimension 5 Snacks Test Kitchen.
We’ve been rebuilding another little corner of the universe that vanished during a move, and this time we’re letting it become what it probably wanted to be all along.
Less “health coach.”
More art project, snack laboratory, Spoonie survival kit, creative playground, and occasional frosting emergency.
Because food is part of the creative process too.
Sometimes it’s nourishment.
Sometimes it’s finding ingredients that work better with the bodies we happen to live in.
Sometimes it’s making something gluten-free, nutrient-dense, comforting, easy, weird, beautiful, or simply possible on a low-energy day.
And sometimes...
you just need a fucking cupcake.
Most of what lives in Dimension 5 Snacks leans toward healthier, gluten-free food because that’s how we generally cook and take care of ourselves.
But we are absolutely not interested in turning every bite into homework.
Healing can involve vegetables.
Healing can also involve buttercream.
Both things may be true at the same time.
We’re aiming for at least four gluten-free recipes a month, along with Spoonie-friendly ideas, experiments, comfort food, creative fuel, kitchen oddities, and whatever else falls out of the vending machine.
Which brings us to today’s first transmission...
❤️ GLUTEN-FREE RED VELVET CUPCAKES
Soft cocoa-red velvet cupcakes, fluffy vanilla buttercream, and absolutely no requirement that they justify themselves as health food.
Sometimes the mission is simply cupcake.
Pearl has apparently classified this experiment as:
Morale enhancement with frosting.
And frankly, we support the research.
❤️ Dimension 5 Snack Drop: Gluten-free red velvet cupcakes with cocoa, vanilla, and fluffy buttercream frosting. Not everything needs to be health food. Sometimes the mission is simply cupcake.

THERE MAY BE MORE FOOD HIDING IN HERE...
Not every recipe is going to sit politely on the counter.
Some will be tucked into shelves, hidden in videos, buried under strange objects, or waiting behind whatever button looked least responsible to push.
The 5th Dimension Snacks vending machine is becoming one of those places.
Insert curiosity.
Receive wonder.
Possibly receive cookies.
No guarantees.
🍪📡✨
Psst...
There’s already another recipe hiding nearby.
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Chewy. Nutty. Gluten-free. A little more nutrient-dense than your average cookie...
but still very definitely a cookie.
Because we have standards.
And cookies are one of them.
The jukebox has started playing after midnight.
Nobody remembers turning it on.
The vending machine has a new button nobody remembers installing.
One of the fish heads seems to be facing the opposite direction every time somebody looks away.
The radio in the kitchen occasionally catches a voice between stations.
And somewhere behind the Café...
a red velvet curtain has appeared where there used to be a wall.
Nobody is opening it.
Not yet.

Wednesday’s Eclectic Wonderland Show: Remixed, Rewired & Slightly Wrong
Wednesday took familiar songs apart.
Remixes. Alternate versions. Club mixes. Strange little rewires.
Songs we knew coming back with different fingerprints.
By the time Friday overnight arrived, the whole signal had changed.
Wednesday bends the songs.
Friday bends the signal.
After midnight, the familiar starts to drift a little farther from shore.
Darkwave. Post-punk. Electronic ghosts. Beautiful things moving between the stations.
Velvet Umbrella Radio | After Hours presents: Angels in the Static.

Mostly static.
Mostly.
But every once in a while...
something answers.
Join Celeste Violet and Mickey Fingers Friday overnight from 1–3 AM Central on WDRT Viroqua, 91.9 FM.
Leave the receiver on.
Some signals are meant to be heard.

WHO KEEPS DOING THIS?
Yes.
We’re all real.
We’re just real weird.
Left to right:
✨ DJ Tea / Celeste Violet

Together we make radio shows, playlists, videos, stories, artwork, strange investigations, accidental mythology, suspicious snacks, and the occasional kitchen experiment.
Some projects begin with a plan.
Some begin with a song.
Some begin because somebody says, “What if...?”
And some appear fully formed in the corridor and refuse to explain themselves.
Either way, this is the little universe we keep building.

MORE DOORS OPEN NOW
Mickey’s Notes
We’ve been building more than a few strange little doors lately.
Some of them are already open. Some are still flickering in the hallway.
Before life went sideways for a bit, we had several show notes, experiments, and little pieces of the Velvet Umbrella universe in progress, including the three-part show from last week and another Petals & Hooks page.
They’re still coming.
Nothing disappeared.
We just had to let the studio breathe for a minute.
Consider this your friendly reminder that a work in progress is still work worth loving.
We’ll keep opening the doors as we finish them.
Meanwhile, Through the Other Doors…

Oh Shitaki! brought the bright, weird, electronic side of Eclectic Wonderland back into focus: dancing mushrooms, cheerful oddities, questionable decisions, and music that wandered in without an appointment.

Then After the Static moved into darker air with shoegaze, dream pop, darkwave, ambient drift, and cathedral echoes for everyone still awake.
And over at Velvet Umbrella Radio | Petals & Hooks, things got considerably less polite.

Fuck This Playlist became more
than four hours of screaming with us
into the void: loud, explicit, furious,
funny, cathartic, and completely unfiltered.
For anyone who needed the opposite
kind of release, we also opened another door.
No Exit: Corridors One & Two offers two separate four-hour journeys into ambient spaces, distant signals, liminal rooms, and slower frequencies.
Eight hours total.
One door for letting it out.
Another for letting go.
Some weeks the universe hands you mushrooms.
Some weeks it hands you static.
Some weeks it hands you a playlist to scream into.
And sometimes…
it just leaves the corridor lights on.

Thank You For Visiting
