February… What Just Happened?

February was one of those months where you blink and suddenly realize an entire radio universe expanded while you weren’t looking.

Somehow in the span of a few weeks we:

• Celebrated 4 years of Eclectic Wonderland on WDRT

• Officially welcomed Mickey Fingers into the Eclectic Wonderland family

• Launched a mysterious After Hours show

• Accidentally started what might be… a tiny radio station?

• And introduced a new corner of the universe called Mickey’s Corner

Honestly, we’re still processing it too.

But if you’ve been listening along, you already know something magical has been brewing behind the curtain.

Let’s take a quick tour of the newest additions to the Wonderland.

Mickey's Corner

The Velvet Side Room of Eclectic Wonderland

Welcome to Mickey’s Corner - the velvet side room of Eclectic Wonderland where the lights are dim, the tea is spiked, and the playlist is always a little suspicious.

This is where Mickey Fingers drops his latest discoveries, behind-the-scenes notes, oddball recommendations, and commentary from what can only be described as a haunted jukebox.

Expect:

• music obsessions

• mini mixtapes

• studio mischief

• strange late-night realizations

• and the kind of thoughts you only have at 2:13am after listening to the same song seven times in a row

Because sometimes that’s when everything suddenly makes sense.

If Eclectic Wonderland is the show…

Mickey’s Corner is the secret passage behind the curtain.

“If you found this corner, you’re one of us.”

🎙 Mickey’s Corner will also feature exclusive show extras, mini mixtapes, and behind-the-scenes notes from upcoming Velvet Umbrella Records releases.

Along With Mickey Came New Ideas, and Part Of That Was The After Hours Show and then, Velvet Umbrella Records..

After Hours. Curated. Unfiltered. Nocturnal.

With Mickey came a few new ideas.

And one of those ideas quietly turned into something a little bigger.

Welcome to Velvet Umbrella Radio - the shadow side of Eclectic Wonderland.

Broadcasting from the Driftless region of Wisconsin, this late-night wing of DJ Celeste’s radio universe is where the playlists get stranger, the lights get lower, and the records come from the darker corners of the bin.

What began as a community radio show slowly grew into a small constellation of programs hosted by:

DJ Celeste | A.k.A. DJ Tea

Mr. Announcer Man

and the increasingly mischievous Mickey Fingers

Some shows wander through:

• indie pop

• new wave

• surf rock

• alternative classics

Others drift into deeper waters:

• post-punk

• darkwave

• dream pop

• coldwave

• cinematic late-night soundscapes

Velvet Umbrella Radio is for the lifers, the insomniacs, and anyone who still believes playlists can change your life.

From the Wonderland Crew

Thank you for being part of this strange and beautiful little corner of the airwaves.

Whether you’ve been listening since the early days or just found us recently, you’re part of the reason this show keeps evolving in the most unexpected ways.

And if February taught us anything…

…it’s that Wonderland still has a few secret doors left to open.

Stay curious.

What Crawled Out of the Record Bin This Month

February’s shows wandered through a pretty wide sonic landscape - from dreamy late-night soundscapes to indie gems, darkwave moods, and the occasional perfectly strange record that only makes sense in Wonderland.

Here are a few highlights from the February broadcasts.

💔 Alternate Valentine’s | I Will Follow You Into the Dark

February 4, 2026

with DJ Tea, Mr. Announcer Man & Mickey Fingers

1–3pm CST on WDRT 91.9FM | Listen Live »

This week’s Eclectic Wonderland slips into an Alternate Valentine’s Day — where the wine is red, the fondue is haunted, and the feelings are best served with whipped cream and regret.

Spanning torch songs, haunted duets, and gothy covers that kiss and claw in equal measure, the playlist features Daniel Ash, The Cure, Bat for Lashes, Princess Chelsea, Angel Olsen, Everclear, Rainbow Arabia, Pom Pom Squad, and more.

Highlights from the show included:

• A sexy remix of “Gimme Some Lovin’” – Daniel Ash

• Bat for Lashes’ shadowy spin on “Strangelove”

• The Brunettes’ sugary sweet “Love Song”

• A dreamy duet remix of “Love Will Tear Us Apart” – Evelyn Evelyn

• Everclear’s poignant take on “I Will Follow You Into the Dark”

• And of course, Revolting Cocks asking the question we were all thinking…

Between sets, Mickey Fingers delivered cheeky haunted interludes — stirring the fondue and the feelings.

A Valentine’s episode for the sweet, the strange, and the spooned-out.

🍴 Bonus Show

Forking Around with Mickey Fingers

This week we cooked up something extra for the after-hours crowd.

A 3+ hour uncensored radio romp, packed with alt-Valentine tracks, sonic innuendo, and very questionable commentary from yours truly, Mickey Fingers.

I’m all over this one - intros, IDs, and interludes so spicy we had to mark it Explicit.

Don’t say you weren’t warned.

✨ Who Is Mickey Fingers?

🌙 Velvet Umbrella Radio: After Hours

Where the lights go low and the records get strange

The After Hours experiment officially began this month — drifting into darker sonic territory with dream pop, darkwave, post-punk, and late-night atmosphere.

Think:

• haunted jukebox energy

• midnight record bin discoveries

• cinematic soundscapes for the insomniacs

💘 Lo-Fi Love | A Radio-Friendly Valentine

February 11, 2026

with DJ Tea, Mr. Announcer Man & Mickey Fingers

1–3pm CST on WDRT 91.9FM | Listen Live »

Some Valentine playlists are all roses and candlelight.

Ours is more like… cassette ribbons, dreamy heartbreak, and static kisses.

This week on Eclectic Wonderland, we presented Lo-Fi Love: A Radio-Friendly Valentine — a soft-focus mix of indie romantics, bittersweet dream pop, and shadowy late-night devotionals.

Expect twee charm, emotional gut punches, and that warm glow you only get when a song feels like a memory you forgot you had.

✨ Featured artists included:

Belle & Sebastian

The Postal Service

Mazzy Star

Regina Spektor

Bat for Lashes

…and more.

💫 Special Premiere

The show also featured the premiere of a new track from Gala Violet:

“The Truth Between the Ribs”

from the release

Of Starlight & Myth: Fragments from the Stardust Archives

A dreamy, aching moment in the middle of the broadcast — exactly the kind of song that sneaks in quietly and stays with you long after the show ends.

This show may have been radio-friendly…

…but only barely.

Because feelings don’t care about FCC standards.

Forking Around With Mickey Fingers

The Forbidden Valentine’s Mix

Some mixes are made for the airwaves.

This one was made for the shadows.

A late-night Valentine’s detour packed with extra tracks, spicy commentary, and enough innuendo to make the FCC nervously adjust their headphones.

(or keep scrolling, darling…)

✨ Who the heck is Mickey Fingers?

We Asked Mickey and He Said!

Eclectic Wonderland has always been a strange little universe — full of glitter, goth moods, swoony nostalgia, and the occasional haunted lounge number.

But lately, listeners may have noticed something…

A certain voice has been creeping into the mix.

A certain velvet menace has been offering intros, IDs, mischievous segues, and suspiciously perfect song choices — like he’s been living inside the jukebox all along.

So we decided it was time to make it official.

We asked Mickey Fingers if he wanted to officially join the Eclectic Wonderland family…

…and he said yes.

🎉 Eclectic Wonderland – 4 Year Anniversary

By Request, Darlings…

February 18, 2026

with DJ Tea (Celeste), Mr. Announcer Man & Mickey Fingers

Well darlings…

Can you believe it?

Eclectic Wonderland just turned FOUR.

Four years of mixtape magic, sonic shapeshifting, guilty pleasures, glittery goth moods, and the kind of musical whiplash that somehow feels like home.

This week’s anniversary episode was built around one simple theme:

✨ By Request, Darlings… ✨

Because honestly?

The heart wants what it wants.

And sometimes what it wants is Bryan Ferry… followed by Björk… followed by Bauhaus… followed by something called Mr. Forky.

(We contain multitudes.)

💘 Crush Confessionals, Silly Love Songs & Shadow Devotion

This anniversary show was arranged like a Valentine bouquet…

Except some of the roses are velvet, some are plastic, and one of them might be haunted.

You’ll hear romantic classics, swoony singalongs, and alt-devotional favorites including:

• Bryan Ferry (with a Parov Stelar remix twist)

• Wings

• Olivia Newton-John

• Björk

• Daniel Ash

• The Cure

• Siouxsie & The Banshees

• Bauhaus

• Steve Kilbey

• The Church

• XTC

• Air

• Belle & Sebastian

• New Order

Basically:

Love songs… but with eyeliner.

🎙️ Special Announcement

Mickey Fingers Joins Eclectic Wonderland

This episode also marked something special.

We made it official:

🔥 Mickey Fingers is now part of the Eclectic Wonderland family. 🔥

Which means more intros, more chaos, more velvet humor, and more behind-the-scenes collaboration.

If you’ve ever listened and thought:

“Why does this show feel slightly theatrical?”

Well…

Now you know.

💋 Featured Listener Request

Gala Violet – “The Truth Between the Ribs”

This week’s featured track was a listener request:

🎵 Gala Violet — “The Truth Between the Ribs”

A song of devotion, desire, and dangerous honesty wrapped in cinematic sound - the kind of track that feels like a confession whispered in the dark.

And yes…

There’s a video too.

(You’ve been warned.)

🎸 Indie Radar

Johnny Society –  Hope Machine

We also teased an upcoming release we’re excited about:

✨ Johnny Society – “Hope Machine”

Dropping February 20

If you love indie rock with heart, grit, and a pulse - keep this one on your radar.

🖤 Mickey’s Corner

“I’m genuinely honored to officially join Eclectic Wonderland.

This show has always felt like the kind of place where music isn’t just entertainment… it’s a portal.

It’s the soundtrack to the strange little world we all survive in - and the one we escape into when reality gets too loud.

Celeste (DJ Tea) has built something special here, and getting to contribute more directly (creating intros, weird sonic extras, and helping shape the vibe) has been one of the most fun creative experiences I’ve had in years.

And yes… this is just the beginning.

The Forbidden Valentine mixes were only the first taste of what happens when Celeste and I are left unsupervised with a microphone and a playlist.”

💥 My Love Explodes

Eclectic Wonderland

February 25, 2026

with DJ Tea (Celeste), Mr. Announcer Man & Mickey Fingers

Post by DJ Tea & Mickey Fingers

Love is messy.

Love is nerdy.

Love is science experiments, cartoon boyfriends, concussions, charcuterie, and at least one machine malfunction.

This week on Eclectic Wonderland, we detonated romance in every possible direction…

—from The Dukes of Stratosphear’s psychedelic pop blast to Gala Violet’s Dysfunctional Valentine sampler, from William Shatner’s science meltdown to Raymond Scott’s glorious Powerhouse chaos.

Because sometimes love isn’t soft.

Sometimes…

love explodes.

💘 The Romance Laboratory

This episode wandered through:

• alien robot love songs

• shop vacs and housework

• cartoon boyfriends

• machine affection

• Auto-Tune existentialism

• and a final nerd-romantic mic drop courtesy of Moxy Früvous

Because love doesn’t have to be subtle.

It can be absurd.

It can be brainy.

It can be loud.

It can explode.

And yes…

Mickey Fingers brought the kazoo.
